Teaching: Original lecture course “Superconducting detectors for radio astronomy”, first presentation in 2008 at University of Tokyo (in English).

Scientific interests: Superconducting metamaterials for RF and THz applications. Development and experimental study of superconducting microwave devices:detectors, oscillators and amplifiers including heterodyne and direct detection with superconducting tunnel junctions (SIS), superconducting Josephson effect oscillators including distributed flux-flow oscillators and arrays of lumped junctions up to 1 THz, dc SQUID-based RF-amplifiers. Development and experimental study of complex superconducting integrated circuits for high-frequency receivers and sensors including CAD design and 3-D EM-modeling. Advanced RF, mm-, submm-wave and THz-band techniques.

Funding: 

  • Recipient of RFBR  grant “A method for readout of a bolometer at microwave frequencies” (2012-2014).
  • Since 2011 – Principal Researcher and group leader at the Laboratory of Superconducting Metamaterials” leaded by professor Alexey Ustinov and funded from mega-grant from Russian Ministry of Education and Science at NUST “MISiS”.
  • In the past – group leader of the international project ALMA-J Band-10, funded by NAOJ (Japan, 2004-2009).

  • Group leader of the international projects “SISIRT” and “TELIS” funded by ESA (SRON, the Netherlands, 1995-2003).

Scientific school: Supervised 3 PhD students and more than 20 undergraduate projects in the field of superconductor high-frequency electronics.

Over 90 papers in refereed journals (IEEE Trans. Microw. Theory and Tech., Terahertz Sci. and Tech., Supercond. Sci. and Tech., Physical Review, Physical Review Letters and others); 2 patents (Russia). In total over 1000 citations, h-index 18 (Web of Science).

Talks: Over 30 presentations at various international conferences. Invited talk at International Superconducting Electronics Conference, ISEC-2003 (July 2003, Sidney, Australia).

Referee: Referee in Journal of Applied Physics, Physical Review B, Superconductor Science and Technology, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Technique, and others. Board member for expertise in PhD and DrSc thesis and defense at IREE RAS and at NUST “MISiS”.
