Seminar in Chernogolovka was held for a working out of a program of concrete scientific tasks of the lab, which were earlier presented in a form of a general scientific tendency in an application form, supported by Ministry of education.

Since an important characteristic of Mega-projects is  development of research on the basis of modern world achievements in a chosen field, the best researches in the field of classic and quantum superconducting structures, which will be used as  “ meta-atoms” for realization of metamaterials - manufactured environment with new physical features, will be attracted to the work of the seminar.

O. Astafiev (Japan), E. Ilyichev (Germany), A. Zagoskin, (Great Britain), who are well-known for their pioneer researches in the field of superconducting quantum systems (cubits); B. Koshelets (Moscow), A. Karpov (USA), A. Klushin (Nizhny Novgorod), I. Vernik (USA), who made a lot in the field of superconducting electronics; A. Golubov (the Netherlands), M. Kuprianov (Moscow), B. Kurin and A. Pankratov (both Nizhny Novgorod) – are recognized specialists in the field of the theory of superconducting structures and circuits and other took part in the seminar as invited specialists and future partners of the Lab.

About 35 people from different scientific centers in Russia and in the world took part in the work of the seminar. All foreign scientists began their work in Russian and in Ukraine and are ready to use their successful foreign experience for formation of a new lab.

A report of the head of the lab and active discussion of the plans of the lab and scientific tasks, which followed after it, played an important place in the program.

Then russian and foreign colleagues spoke about their ideas about possible researches in the field of superconducting metamaterials. Each of more than twenty reports has caused lively and informal discussions about realization and scientific significance of a concrete proposed task.

The last of three days of the seminar was used for a work meeting of active members of the lab, where scientific and organizing plans for 2012 and 2013 were discussed.

Students, graduate students and promising young colleagues of the future lab, who are partly chosen and partly are being chosen for a participation in the project, took part in the work of the seminar and in the debates. Of course, many of them are beginners in this field yet.

Participation in the seminar and in the debates together with recognized experts was very useful for their effective immersion into scientific subject.
